Sunday

Hey to all. Just finishing up a pretty uneventful weekend. 2 and I did our usual Sunday morning with church and Ross's. I got my run in after lunch. I've stretched the distance out a little and am now closing in on 2.6 or so. I figure I'll get up over 3.0 by next weekend. It was easier today because it was cooler.

1 did a 20 miler yesterday. You go girl! She also reports that her first week of teaching was a good one.

The Hawks managed to win with their 2nd string QB throwing 4 INT's. A win on the road is a good win regardless. The Clones also won a close game. I guess it ended in a little controversy as a possible TD by Nevada was disallowed at the end of the game. ND killed Penn State. So we had another weekend with the 3 teams that we most closely follow all winning. That record will end next weekend since the Hawks and Clones meet for state bragging rights. I remember how big the Iowa-Iowa State game was in the '70's when they started the current annual clash. I think we even came back from C-town once or twice to see the game.

I have a big week coming up. Friday is a tax filing date. Lots to do. A day trip Tuesday to Des Moines.

2 is headed to Florida to visit a girlfriend from high school next weekend.

9-11 anniversary tomorrow. I have an email from a friend who says that we should wear red, white and blue tomorrow.

My pal Roy was in Florida this weekend on some family phalanthropy matters. He has elected to back out of a trip next week to Ireland for the Ryder Cup. He doesn't have a good feeling for international travel, particularly going through Heathrow in London.

I need to get a passport if I plan to go to Cabo for the 2007 Why Pay Less Tour in January with the boys. Apparently there has been a change whereby a birth certificate and driver's license will not be adequate for Mexico travel at some point in the near future. So rather than try to figure out the new rules, I'm just going to get the passport.

The somewhat unorganized group of organizations that puts the QC Criterium together for the Memorial Day weekend is out soliciting sponsors for next year. The guy who is head of their finance committee gave me the heads up last week that he would be calling on me. I'm a little curious what the lead sponsorship designation might cost. The Quad City Criterium sponsored by Criterium Financial, Ltd. It could happen.

So have a great week.

But be careful out there.
