Sunday AM

I am beginning to return from the dead. Friday and Saturday were pretty much lost days for me. I finally was able to keep some solid food down last night. Funny deal.

I invite 1 to share her exciting news here today.

More later.

Be careful out there.

The exciting news is that Matt popped the question!! He surprised me with a limo ride, during which he proposed, and then a fancy steak dinner, and then great tickets to the wolves game. The entire evening was flawless. He kept the entire thing secret until the limo pulled up to our house. I still wasn't expecting anything when he got down on one knee. We got to the restaurant and the limo driver, hostess, and waiter knew about the surprise and everyone was incredibly nice. A table of about 12 Hawkeye fans were seated next to us and when the ladies caught wind of what had happened they all had to come over and look at the ring and give congratulations. It was so fun! Our waiter spent the night making sure everything was perfect. The ring is absolutely stunning, and Matt picked it out all on his own. It is classic, elegant, and really sparkly!! We were upgraded to row eight seats at the Target Center and got to enjoy a close game. The Wolves didn't win, but we had a great time. The limo picked us up and dropped us at Matt's parents house. They had gone and gotten Lucy and Matt's car after we left in the limo. Of course, they were both very excited and happy. We will be going over again tonight to celebrate Matt's upcoming birthday. We haven't done any planning really, but hope to get married before school starts next year. I'm looking at a few churches to see if we can get a date sometime later in the summer. I'll make sure everyone gets a heads up. For now we're just enjoying calling each other fiance! I think Matt is looking forward to the next family gathering because he won't be getting anymore grief about us getting engaged...:) Love to all

I'm not sure if this is the reason or not Matt proposed, but his Christmas presents just got a major upgrade. Let's be honest. That's probably why he did it. : )
