Hello and Good bye from C-town!

Had a real enjoyable dinner last night with my friend Lee at an Italian restaurant not far from Midway.  He and I have a lot in common both personally and professionally.  He's a few years younger than me, but he works a lot of the same technical areas, runs his own practice, and sees the many changes that our industry faces in the non-too-distant future.  And he is looking at an exit strategy as well. 

My hotel was just a few blocks away from the airport.  It was okay, but they had a $12 parking fee that they kind of missed in the room-rate quote.  I mean, a Sleep Inn with a parking fee?  Gimme a break. 

Southwest doesn't charge a bag fee, but they sent an email earlier in the week that you could up-grade your boarding pass for an additional $10 per flight.  Among the listed benefits, earlier boarding for better access to the overhead bins.  Everybody wants a little more for everything.

Looks like there may be another ontime departure in my future.  Arrival in Reno right around noon.  More here later.
