C-town. Day 2.

3 was supposed to add some commentary about our dinner last night. Good time.

Back to The Quackers after lunch. Looking forward to the traffic.

More later.

3 was supposed to add some commentary last night, but some italian red left her a little tired. The computer never even got turned on.

Dad and I had a great time last night. We went to a trendy hawaiian fusion restaurant, where we shared a little sushi (dad even used chopsticks! he's so trendy!), had some fish, and a bottle of a family favorite, J Lohr cabernet. After the meal we moved from our table to the bar as a kind gesture to our waitress. (who was named Suzanna, and dad- in typical form, did drop an "Oh, Suzanna......") (This was obviously not Suzanna's first time hearing the joke, but she handled the ribbing pretty well and remembered dad's name throughout the meal, which was pretty entertaining)

I digress, but the point was, the bar was full, so we moved down the street and pulled up at the bar of another restaurant/bar. Here we struck up a polite conversation with a girl a few years older than me who was eating a meal alone at the bar and intermittantly talking with a friend waiting tables. It came out the girl had a boyfriend that went to Iowa and she was eventually heading home to the suburbs on the same train line dad was taking back to his hotel. So after we finished our wine and she shared her ghiradelli peppermint bark with me (yum), we all piled in a cab and dropped me off back at my place and then they went on home. It was a pretty hilarious and fun evening and I highly recommend future FFF in Chicago. Particularly if it gets me out of work at 6pm. woo hoo!

In other news, everyone get excited for Thanksgiving! I am already pondering whether or not i'm going to get up and go to Best Buy with kate at 5am... Nothing I like better than od'ing on turkey followed by a day of retail therapy...
