i feel that your blog is being neglected because everyone always comments on kristen's. here is a token comment for you. our gym is closing for a week for 'remodeling'. for the last week the men have been without shower facilities and the women have been forced to use the men's locker room while workers put new tile in the women's shower area. i haven't decided what to do about next week when the club is closed, but i know it will be much less convenient and that i will not be compensated for that inconvenience. we are not getting a month of membership pro-rated for this week because there are other clubs we can use. still, it is inconvenient. i decidedly hate lifetime fitness as it is a monopoly and does what it pleases regardless of what members actually want. they have you cornered because they have partnerships with all of the large insurance companies so you get a discount on membership if you go 8 or 10 times a month, depending on the provider. i only have to go 8 times a month to get a $20 discount on my membership. that makes my single membership about $30. for that price, there is no comparable option. i could pay the same or more for a more poorly equiped club, just to prove a point, but that is silly. instead, i will travel at least 10 miles to and from another club to workout next week, cursing braham akradi's name the whole way.
